Is warlock far superior compared to shamans when hunting alone? I know shamans have a good place when teamhunting blablabla but that's not the point

Yes. Soon you will unlock your true potential of dark gathering.

Just continue your journey as a master of the dark arts.

You are doing a good job ;)

In elysium there no doubt that shaman is better. And in my personal opinion shaman is better overall. Shaman is the most tanky mage. Example of a mage who have 1000hp (level 161 if no durability talents).

Buffee mages

Warlock could block 1000/0.7= 1428 damage with their full hp
Pyromancer 1000/0/66= 1515 damage with their full hp
Shaman 1500/0.9=1667 damage

Note: pyro loses some mana when blocking. As you can see pyro have better buff than warlock, but they have to pay for it. Shaman got way better buff than the other 2, with a cost of what?

Damage wise - its been a while since the last time i tested. But shamans are hitting very close to warlocks. I can see advantage for warlock in pvp to have 2sec single target spell. But is it that huge of the deal compared to tankiness? In hunts it doesnt matter at all, cuz shamans can use either extra stalahmite or hailstorm. At the end of the day warlock spells cost more mana. Pyro hits stronger than the other 2 classes, but it got a little bit nerfed and in my personal opinion it was somewhat fair compared to warlock but not to shaman. As i would put a shaman as number one option in both pvp and none pvp worlds.

Do you mind explaining those numbers? I don't get the math shenanigans from this :\
You mean the full hp (or dmg block) from each class with their own buff?

Warlock blocks 30% of dmg. So to see how much damage they can block you have to take their hp and devive by 0.7 (because they receive 70% of the damage.
Pyro absorbs 24% and 10% goes to mana. So overall 34%. To see how much damage they can block you have to take their hp ans devibe by 0.66 (because they receive 66% of the damage) (100%-24%-10%)
Shaman buff adds 50% of hp so instead of 100% they will have 150%. On top of that they block 10%. So 150/0.9.
